Really enjoyed the gathering Sunday, although still a lot to learn with ArmA's controls.
Last night my regular cs.go server was full so i thought i would have a quick dip into koth while i waited for a space.
3 hours later i was still creeping from house to house in fear of my life.
One thing i noticed was when i was injured, but the heal icon wasn't showing, i couldn't work out how to use the bandage in the inventory. Dropping it and picking it up was as far as i got.
I too am feelin' the fever. It looks really promising. Be sure to thank =SWF= McGuirk for this new gaming experience. McGuirk was the one pushing for this Gathering. On a similar note, we had 10 Spartans on last night playing KOTH. It was a genuine surprise to see so many people on one TeamSpeak channel. I thought maybe I missed an event announcement.
KOTH could be our unifying game. I know that I sure am enjoying the experience.
It can be a bit disgruntling at first. Stick with it and it will pay dividends.
Understanding the game mechanics, your personal key configuration, and having a good pilot for the initial insertion are key.
I know I complained a bunch tonight during our gaming session, and I'm sorry if I put anyone off. I just get frustrated when I die 20 times and only get one kill... KOTH (and Arma in general) is really difficult for me to get the hang of for some reason.
I'll work on it more on my own and maybe after a while I'll get used to it.
