Here is what you need to do to post an imbeded video.

Get the link.

You will get a window that looks like this.

Paste the link in and click any blank space in the window and you will get a preview. It may take a couple  seconds for the video to show up in the window. Click 'Insert'. Your video shows up as a colored box. This is normal.

Click 'Submit' and you have your video!

Tried to post this video... followed the instructions exactly... everything worked in the preview, but after I submit the post I get nothing but a tag that says !iframe Filtered! (with brackets around it).

Not sure what's going on here.  There are other videos posted, I have posted a video before (I think), but this one just doesn't want to work.  Is there any chance that Firefox is interfering with my posting?  I'll try again to post it with IE.

It would seem I am unable to post videos on the site.  I keep getting that 'iframe filtered' text after I post.  I tried multiple ways of posting, even using every bbcode available (since the bbcode for posting images works fine) to no avail.  I even attempted to use straight up html code by editing the html source of my post... I end up getting a white square where the video should be.

I'm out of ideas.  Taz, it's time for you to work your magic.  Sorry bud.

"DHTML Form with xCode" has a YouTube icon to embed YouTube. I used it to embed the video into your post.

The other options are "Plain" and "Tiny MCE."

You still have to be careful there is not a "s" in the link. It is common for a youtube video to have written like this

https://

when it is changed to this

http://

It usually functions.

Ah, thank you.  Not sure if my link had an 's' in it, and also I didn't try to use the other formats because Taz made it sound like the TinyMCE was the only format that worked for posting on the forum.

I'll have to remember that for next time.

The https address is the key. The site can't link to your account and won't display the video. I have done this a couple times and probably should have mentioned it here but didn't really think about it. When linking videos the way I show above you should be logged out of youtube so you get the raw link without any extra charactors linked to your account.

Makes sense.  It was a bit confusing, but the link I was using didn't have the https on it.  Just http.  But I'll get the direct link from the video (not the youtu.be one) next time I try to post one.  Thanks for the tips.
