There is a good thread to visit "What makes you avoid War Mode?"  I specifically want to draw the readers' attention to the discussion between @Rolf_Mützelburg and @Rdanzer.  Here is the link to their specific portion of the thread:  A reason WHY you would want to WIN the WAR

I took notes and boiled down some of the main points discussed in the "What makes you avoid War Mode?" thread:

Why Staged instead of War?
- Ping is better in staged
- Match maker is faster in staged
- Operating against Clans in War
- Queue too long in War
- Greater use of the Heavyset combat badge in War
- Team resources are asymmetric in War
- Fun & K/D ratio consideration
- Not worried about winning in staged
- War is under-developed
- For the lone players in War, it is like "a guppy lost in a tidal wave" (Rolf_Mützelburg quote)
- Doesn't feel like a War.  It feels like part of a staged battle. "Role-playing atmosphere" (Rdanzer quote)
- A reason to win the War
- Everything takes too much time for the Campaign Map:
... AT Deploy
... AT Movement
... AT Reinforcement
... AT Redeploy
... Time to commence battle

Reasons for War?
- The unique Campaign Map War is the only reason to invest time in the game
- Best players and competition
- No Auxiliary slots being selected by players in Staged battles
- Extra bonuses
- My Clan

How to encourage War?
- Faction Leadership positions
- Equidistant starting points for the factions
- Integrated VoIP in the WAR Assault map Action Battles
- Access to ____ putting on display the players achievement and their contribution to winning the War
- Get Community Members "fired-up" to play a part in the War
