Are you or the government better at spending your money, deciding where you live, how much education you should receive, or determining your share of health care?
The banner of capitalism offers the most prosperous, efficient, and fair alternative for society.
Nothing is FREE. Someone has to pay for it. Free tuition, free health care, and doubling of the minimum wage costs real money.
Do you think small businesses will become fewer with less jobs available with an employee who costs double with excessive health insurance costs?
If the pilgrims were socialist they would have died.
Socialist and Communist one in the same. Socialism to me is another form of slavery.Mostly used by Demcorats by getting others dependent on Gov handouts.Look at the evolution from cheese to cell phones.
I was in a conversation with a U.S. federal employee. I brought up how ridiculous it was that the state of Maryland had a ‘rain’ tax. That’s right, when it rains on your property you have to pay higher taxes. The guy honestly thought it was a good idea to have the tax and that he supported it because the extra money was being used to assist the water estuaries in the state of Maryland. I retorted, “If you think it is such a great idea, then you should contribute all of your paycheck to saving the water tidal areas and leave my hard earned money alone."
Unfortunately, the ideology of Communism has seeped into the minds of far too many. The reality of the human condition is we are not all rocket scientists and star Olympic athletes. There are multiple lessons that can be pulled from this next short story. Here are two of my take-aways: Make the most of the time you have and don't settle for mediocrity.
"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up, it knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're the lion or a gazelle-when the sun comes up, you'd better be running." - Christopher McDougall
If life was fair and everybody was equal, I would not have led elite soldiers in foreign lands. Instead, I would have made decisions on the proper use of an ordinary agricultural tool on a communal farm.
