I am in desperate need to more space as my current 250GB SSD, it got so close to full (less than 2gb free) I had to uninstall a few games. Shall I purchase a standard HD or get a 2nd larger SSD? Plus whats the best way to set them up in windows? Your help/input would be most welcome.
Note: I currently have only that one 250gb SSD installed, no other storage, my OS is windows 8.
A combination of my OS, photos, music, programs and games filled it up! I removed planet side 2 and Arma2 which has made a big difference, I now have just under 50GB free now! Isn't 2TB a bit overkill, I enjoy the speed improvements SSDs bring, I was tempted to get a 500gb one and raid it so windows treats the both as 1 drive, yet I've never raided before and don't no the pros and cons.
Lambourne, i'll chime in here with what I would do, others might disagree. I would buy a 1TB standard 7200rpm internal drive from a reputable manufacturer. I've had good luck with Western Digital and trouble with Hitachi. Then I would move all your photos, music and install any new games or programs to that new drive. You need to free up enough space on your SSD (OS drive) for an effective page file. Unless you're editing HD video you don't need anything faster than 7200rpm, or a RAID, so why pay for it.
So much space! Thanks for input guys, my new hard drive is in and i'm in the process of installing/ moving games, programs and file on it, already freed 70GB off my SSD
