The primary role of the cargo truck is, and should remain, transporting friendly infantry to the frontlines. Currently, the secondary role is to act as a mobile spawn for the whole team to use. Another significant feature is the ability to carry two crates selected by the owner of the vehicle.
In an effort to specialize the function of the half-track and to create a separate identity for the cargo truck, I would like to recommend removing the ability to use the cargo truck as a mobile spawn. In order to encourage teamplay and dependence on your team mates, I would like to see the role of the cargo truck focus on logistics. Your team will actively seek out a friendly cargo truck to attain needed material and services:
... Ammo crate to resupply on ammunition
... Medical crate for health
... AT crate for anti-tank weapons (Panzerfaust)
... Wrench for repairs (the wrench can be used within 10 meters of the cargo truck. The wrench despawns for the user and returns to the truck if the user leaves the 10 meter radius)
... Bicycle for faster, quieter transportation (respawn another bike in _ minutes if the bike leaves a 10 meter radius)
The shovel is put to good use to create enhancements for the cargo truck. The establishment of a logistics site progresses with the shoveling action of a player equipped with a shovel. These enhancements would be unlocks:
... Camouflage net over the cargo truck
... Sandbags on the sides of the truck to harden the position protecting the truck as well as being used by defenders
So, the cargo truck is used for transporting infantry and logistics. The cargo truck could also be used and unlocked by a new Anti-Aircraft (AA) soldier class. The cargo truck can transport soldiers, but its primary function for the AA soldier would be to transport a large crate which could be dropped and then shoveled into a stationary anti-aircraft position.
A key counter to air dominance is AA positions in unexpected locations. It gives the ground defenders more time to engage hostile air threats and makes for a more interesting threat environment for enemy aircraft pilots.
