Re: Live for Speed

We need to get online sometime and find a server.

However, I disagree with needing a wheel to play it. I have known a few people that were very successful using the mouse to play. As a matter of fact, most people that are really fast use a mouse to control the car. I have asked a few and talked some trash telling them thay are cheating and to try it with a wheel.

The online experience is great. Most of the people who play use good sportsmanship and seem fairly mature. There is no built in VOIP and the chat is usually not abused. The best part is the vote system. You can even vote to kick someone if it is enabled. I have used it many times to get rid of 'crashers' and people who don't follow rules.

I have said it before and will say it again. This is a great racing sim, it's free to try, you can race online with the trial, inexpencive to purchase and easy to learn to race with. I would encourage any one with any competitive juice in their veins to try it.

And thanks for a better review than I could ever have written Al.

The images are being displayed at their native sizes. It does seem like they are smaller here but insure you they are the same size. They just look smaller due to the larger framework of the forum and website. If you would like a larger image in your signature then you can either make one, ask for someone to make one for you or find a larger image with your stats in it. There is currently no size limit but I do ask that you be reasonable.

The https address is the key. The site can't link to your account and won't display the video. I have done this a couple times and probably should have mentioned it here but didn't really think about it. When linking videos the way I show above you should be logged out of youtube so you get the raw link without any extra charactors linked to your account.

I much more prefer the stand alone. It reminds of the origional mod before so many people got hold of it and ruined the gameplay by overpowering the zombies. The gear system is easier to use and keep organized. The ability to customize weapons and clothing is a big plus as well. Sure, the mods let you build things, drive around in vehicles, have more loot to grab up and have ways for you to keep extra gear stashed away for a rainey day. We have to remember this is still an alpha and by playing have a roll in the development and can make things happen with the game before it is released. In my opinion, I believe the gameplay and interface trump all of that. I do still like some of the mods and will play them, but, will be yearning for the standalone while playing.

And here everything was going so smoothly and I thought it was working the way it should.

I had the subforums collapsed to save space and everything above the restricted section was fine. I tried a few things but it seems to be a glitch in the backend somewhere. All the settings and permissions are the same for all the forums but they still don't show.

To fix the problem I have set the subforums to expanded. It does add a bit of scroll time when looking throuhg the forums but at least we will all see if there are new posts in the subforums.

That's standard weather or not the box is checked since I changed the time limit to unlimited. You can come back to the site a few minutes later and still be logged in.
