Thanks Scriv, I purchased the basic tank crew guy with credits and kept my infantryman.
It has cleaned me out of all remaining credits and gold but it is well worth the expense. I'm loving tanking!
As in BF2 and PS2 it is a game within a game.
Also it does feel very similar to BF2 tank gameplay.

How did you guys acquire your 'Tank Crew' character?

I reached rank 5 with my Recon but realized I cannot change to Tank Crew because I'd already purchased the Recon

I can work my Infantryman to 5 quickly but have seen on the forums it is best not to change to tank but to purchase separately. I might go down this route.
(I need more credits anyway)

Just recently I've discovered that I cannot view topic on the Heroes & Generals posts.
It is just there as far as I know.

These are the permissions I have after logging in:

You cannot view topic.
You can start a new topic.
You can reply to posts.
You can edit your posts.
You can delete your posts.
You cannot add new polls.
You can vote in polls.
You can attach files to posts.
You can post without approval.
You can use topic type.
You can use HTML syntax.
You can use signature.
You can create pdf.

All look normal other than the first line.

I played this game originally and thought it was a bit 'pay to win' similar to War Thunder.
There have been lots of updates since then so I've re installed it and will give it another shot!

Hmmm, worth keeping an eye on though.

Flight sim just cannot fade away with the massive community behind it.

I came across this video today on board the actual Trincomalee, 200 years after construction!

It gave me goose bumps hearing it creaking and swaying in the water.

What a grim life those guys must have had!

The reason I ask is that my Dad has re-installed FSX (disc) on to his new PC.
Somehow he did not put it in the default location and piled in all his addons most into the default and some God knows where!

Since then his PC rarely boots up properly. I managed to clear out most and re-install but he is still having trouble.

I suggested he might start afresh inc. windows re-install and go for the Steam version. It looks after itself and has multiplayer I believe?

I know not all his addons will work with the Steam version, but that might be a sacrifice he has to make for less hassle!
