Cobra is out and downloading now!

I'll give my opinion and some pics when tested

OK, these are in game shots. Lovely piece of work although there are a few minor updates to come.

It looks and sounds fantastic, but it difficult to drive (look at my last screen shot!) which was not unexpected.

IMO it is a top quality addition to your garage.

Drive carefully gents!

The Shelby Cobra looks fantastic, but handles like crap. It's a light car with about 400-500 bhp and about 600 Nm of torque depending on version, and 0-100 km/h comes in an instant. The worst part is braking. If you brake even a bit too much, the rear goes spinning right away, even if the car seems to be perfectly straight. However, if you do notice this and let go of the brake pedal, you can regain control. Going fast and braking hard in a corner seems to be impossible for this car.

This was with default settings and I think with street tyres, so maybe there's a chance it isn't as bad as it seems to be.

It sounds like the Cobra is very true to its original form. Tyre technology and suspension geometry in the 60's was no where near what it is today. Even though it is a beast to handle by todays standards it was a dream racecar for Ferreri haters in the mid 60's. It handled better and had a higher top speed than most anything on the track at the time.

Quote from http://carrollshelbyinternational.com/history/

"In 1965, the Shelby-American Team, racing Cobra’s at the 12 Hours De Reims In France, scored enough points to win the prestigious FIA World Championship of GT cars. Taking the title virtually owned by Ferrari for a decade.

Building on their success, the Shelby-American Team began racing Ford GT4O’s in international competition. The result? A win at the LeMans 24 hour race In 1966. And another in 1967. At the request of Ford, Shelby began developing a high-performance Mustang for the street and track. The popular success of the Shelby Mustangs of 1965-1970 were, in large part, the result of Shelby’s racing and design skills. But Shelby’s vision of building another high-performance car would continue."

Why did people, especially Carroll Shelby hate Enzo? He was very cocky. He looked down on everyone around him as inferior and useless. Yes he built a great empire and amazing sports cars but his attitude was over the top and unwarrented. Shelby made it his own personal agenda to take him down a few notches and succeded

To get these additional cars do you need to download them to a specific file?

Best to download first Viper, then un-zip to say an empty file on your desktop.
I prefer to manually place the files in the game because I can then find it easily to remove if I have to.

Drag the car file into 'cars' located:

Local Disk (C)
Program Files(x86)
Steam
steamapps
common
assettocorsa
content
cars

Once you know the path it is quite easy

I normally open a default car folder and the mod car folder to compare, and make sure they look similar.

If you open a car folder you will see a skins folder. This is where you put mod skins.

If you are worried I can post some screen shots to help ease the proccess

OK Viper. This picture shows the path to AC Cars and I have selected the fearsome Zonda R to show the (typical) contents of car folders.
Below the Zonda are the three Cobra variants which are mods.

If the downloaded car contents look similar, you should be OK. In this example the Cobra has an extra file called data.
Sometimes when you un-zip a mod car the file will be called content or car. Just open it and drag out the actual car and drop it with the rest of the cars.

Lake Louise loop road
http://www.racedepartment.com/threads ... 8-km-mountain-epic.92683/

It's a mountain road, not a race track. What could be better than driving a supercar on a relaxing mountain road? Well, driving on the track, but even without traffic it feels really cool to do some everyday driving with a powerful car. I drove the Mercedez-Benz SLS down a cliff on that road after losing traction...

Reliant Robin

A three-wheel car with a small engine. Very much unfinished, but driving through the corners is always exciting. It has a tendency to tip over.

Lada 2106
http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/vaz-lada-2106.3071/

The developers of this mod claim that all technical specifications are taken from official documentation and drawings. It also looks realistic. Obviously it's really slow (74 bhp) but it's easy to drift with.

Someone made a version with 400 bhp, better suspension and sounds from the Shelby Cobra mod. It can be found in the comments section. I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds crazy enough to be fun.
