3. =SWF= being the guerrillas should not have happened. It should be two equally capable teams.

4. I do not have the key bindings sorted out for ArmA 3 - my fault

5. The NPC AI bots should NOT be giving any orders to real players or kicking real players from vehicles.

6. We got butchered by an armor vehicle while we sat in a pickup truck followed by the NPC AI bot system kicking me out of a disabled armored truck (with a heavy weapon system) at least four times. At the same time, we were being base raped by an aircraft and the NPC AI bots were spamming orders.

1. sorry man :(

2. no worries, don't mind at all showing up late. we just try to start as quickly as possible so we may already be started for those joining late (can sometimes cause issues with objectives and scripts). would rather late joiners than no joiners

3. both sides were 100% equal. another team simply found an armored vehicle that was accessible to both teams fairly.

4. oaksy says something about a Arma 2 preset option within arma 3 which automatically puts all the controls back to arma 2. it may be worth looking into for you. however, i recommend NOT to revert back because there's new functionality in Arma 3 and it's "better". just sucks learning the transition in such an already complex game, i know man...

5. this was an oversight to round 2 of the mission that night, which unfortunately was the only one you joined for. i forgot to disable the friendly AI for that round. otherwise, NEVER join a squad where the group leader is AI, instead choose the slot that says "group leader" yourself and no AI will then give orders. Never choose to let a AI be your group leader if you don't want this to happen.

6. sounds frustrating, sorry man! :(

furthermore, i hate to see so much frustration coming from my missions. Is it me? is it my design? is it you? is it your unwillingness to learn something new? is it arma 3 and its changes from arma 2? what the hell is it?

Personally, i remember when first starting Arma 2 and learning all these nuances. It pissed me off and frustrated the hell out of me, but it was worth it. Once i learned it all and dealt with the issues and configured things to my liking i was able to enjoy it and the rest is history. The same phases occurred when i first loaded up Arma 3. Although the period of time was much quicker for me after having gone through it before with Arma 2.

After spending the necessary time to get comfortable with the new Arma 3 it works beautifully! I can only recommend you all to go through this process, be determined to get it suited to you and your preferences. Get comfortable with it!

Beyond that, specifically, WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU? What do you want or need from me? Do you want a 1-on-1 with me to learn everything? Do you want a group session/classroom to learn it all together?

ANYTHING that stops what seems to be a horrible experience for people every time we try an Arma 3 mission....

I'm pretty friendly and you all know our PCGN TS3 address so whatever you need or want for Arma 3 come find me and tell me . Just try to do so NOT at mission start time and be prepared to have a discussion with me because you all know i am very technical in nature and sometimes need help making the translation from a non-technical user to my own understanding of the issue.

Third mission of the campaign starts Monday May 19 at 2000 hrs EST.

The Hunter and his civilian militia from Galati have lit the fuse in the opening phases of this epic unfolding of the powers of sovereignty warring the powers of oppression. The resistance builds momentum with the liberation of Galati, capturing of the military compound, and acquisition of the main Altis Airfield.

Meanwhile, NATO Special Forces have been keeping a bird's eye on the escalations on Altis and are preparing support for the resistance.

Slovenian forces have amassed a stockpile of heavy armor platoons where they're currently staging in the salt flats of Almyra for a complete invasion.

Sergeant Banilla is leading an operation to silently infiltrate the armor staging area, destroy as many heavy armored vehicles as possible, and exfiltrate to the beach of Thelos Bay.

It's time to blow shit up!

Operation Blastcore

Features

Several Offroad trucks and quads at base outpost; vehicle respawn enabled
Revive enabled!
ShackTac Fireteam HUD for Arma 3
Blow lots of shit up!
Special ops night mission
view distance/grass selector to help with performance
virtual ammobox system for instant custom loadouts
NO AI KICKING YOU OUT OF VEHICLES

Recommended Mods: not required, but provide great atmospheric benefit (ignore errors when joining server if you do not install these mods)

TMR: http://www.armaholic...ge.php?id=21785 (greatly improve your weapon handling, aiming, and shooting experience.)
CBA A3: http://www.armaholic...ge.php?id=18767 (base requirement for all the other mods)
Blastcore: http://www.armaholic...ge.php?id=23899 (makes explosions and special effects much higher quality)
Blastcore Tracers: http://www.armaholic...ge.php?id=24334 (same as above, applied to bullet tracers)
ShackTac Fireteam HUD for Arma 3: http://dslyecxi.com/...hud-for-arma-3/
Guide for installing mods: http://www.armaholic...m=posts&q=20866

!!!DO NOT USE DEVELOPMENT BUILD OF ARMA 3!!!

You may not use your own weapon or other client-side mods since it causes weird issues with loadouts and items. More recommendeds may come in the future as my own experience with their usage grows.

Yes exactly.

We are discussing where to focus our energies and my aim is to do that based on factual data rather than unsubstantiated flubber.

I'm simply sharing the data i'm coming across with you guys!

Definitely feel free to contribute if any of you have more data.

this is a work in progress... keep refreshing

Overall
Server/Player Count

Arma 2

Arma 3 (Gamespy)
https://dl.dropboxus...6-28-51-234.png
Arma 3 (Steam)
https://dl.dropboxus...6-45-20-819.png

Conclusion: Life missions and Arma 3 has another whole server reporter to browse from also showing significant servers and players

Wasteland
Server/Player Count

Arma 2
https://dl.dropboxus...6-36-12-737.png
Arma 3
https://dl.dropboxus...6-35-39-513.png

Conclusion: Arma 3 with 13 servers over 50 players and Arma 2 with 10 servers over 50 players

DayZ Mods
irrelevant to try and compare a3 vs a2 dayz mods and also throw in SA, for now

Overall Conclusion
*This will evolve over time as more statistics are uncovered and deciphered*

Statements such as "everybody does" or "nobody does" mean nothing factual.

some of this was my fault as i was on your team but not readily available to join the action after the briefing.

But Lambourne makes some good points. Rules and a map were on the forum way in advance. The mission was on the server for 2 weeks before we played it as well. You're always welcome to poke around and see if you can get something on our server. But we may not always want the surprises ruined.

Further, this was a PVP mission through and through. The first round we added enemy ai due to lack of players. the second run half our side didn't get a briefing and we didn't coordinate any plans. And again my own presence would have helped in order to answer questions. Sorry about that guys, it's not every time i'm like that.

1. ditch the ai

you mean the enemy ai, or the friendly ai defending our spawn bases? or the ai in our squads?

2. disable radio chatter

this is client side guys, search google and turn it off however you find the way how to. i'd like to know too if you find out, it seems way more annoying in Arma 3 than in 2

3. controls

definitely a big issue learning a new game, or transitioning into a new control scheme. personally i enjoy the new controls, but definitely revert them back to a2 style if it suits your preference!

4. practice

fuck yea! keep an eye on pcgn forums in the a3 section for what we're doing server/mission wise. at least you'll find my posts there detailing everything . if your question isn't already answered there, then odds are i don't know the answer yet =b. but you can find which servers and what i'm doing on them and provide your feedback if you want to do some other things or see some other things

thanks guys!

hi SWF - we have updated information concerning the next WW3 mission.

Second mission of the campaign starts Monday April 28 at 2000 hrs EST.

The last of us with the will to survive have made it out of Galati, just barely. We've met up at an outpost with other Civilian Militias and have a short opportunity to clear our minds and our losses. I'm impressed how the other people are handling this; I'm sure their own experience and emotions are worse than mine.

But we're not done yet! This is just the beginning! From here we need to reclaim a foot hold in the area, increase our numbers, and storm back towards Eastern Altis taking back every town along the way.

A few geeky civilians have provided some recon to gain intel on remaining Slovenian activity in the area. Initial reports indicate a small enemy outpost to our Southeast. Our objective is to secure the hilltop military compound just West of the Altis Airport, and we expect heavy resistance from this Slovenian outpost.

Conquer! PVP

Features
2 Teams - Bluefor as Civilian Militia; Opfor as Slovenians
Equal home base outposts with Virtual Ammobox for loadouts
Several Offroad trucks and quads at each base outpost; vehicle respawn enabled
Every player can revive; 60 second bleedout before dying and respawning
Stop bleeding by "Stabilize" option, prolonging revive opportunity
1 large open battlefield between the 2 base outposts
Multiple dynamic objectives: Primary = Capture Military Compound
Bonus air vehicles across the AOE; vehicle respawn enabled
Bonus wheeled and tracked vehicles across the AOE; vehicle respawn enabled
ShackTac Fireteam HUD for Arma 3

Rules
Capturing the objectives grants your team 1 point each, as indicated in the top right corner of the HUD
To capture, your team's units must dominate the zone radius
Speed up capturing by eliminating the other team
Vehicles will also speed up the capturing process if within the radius of the capture zone (armored being the fastest)
Points do not add up the longer you have the point captured
Kills count as team points
Revives have no score
Winning team will be the team with the most objectives captured at the end of the mission
Players on the winning team will receive a WW3 Campaign badge on their profiles in the PCGN forums
