Yes, I'd forgotten about the RUF! I like the idea, but for a track.

Longest are: Mugello,NurburgringGP,Siverstone and of coarse Spa.

I don't mind.

Congrats to Vrindu on a great time!

Results are updated on page 1.

Viper and myself couldn't manage to improve our closed settings time. However, Al made a big gain and threatened Vrindu's time.

Alright crew,happy new year.

I've been doing a fair bit of on-line stuff recently - at Spa and Imola mainly. I haven't used the RUF so-far, but am going to run it round Mugello in default setup mode to see what happens.

OK, Mugello sounds good Vrindu.

Shall we say for January's challenge:

RUF @ Mugello.

I tried the RUF recently and she is a bit of a handfull!
Should make for a good challenge.

Is definitely going to take a bit of getting used to this car. Its fast but the back end is a bit twitchy and gets a bit unstable on the breaks.

I finally returned to the wheel. What a car! The Yellowbird is comparable to the F40, but I think this one is easier to handle.

Last time I checked, I was on the second place, behind Vrindu and ahead of Wobbly and the others. Again, Vrindu has set one hell of a lap time, but Wobbly's time could've been much better.

You are right about my time Al
I'm not getting much time on the track at the moment due to being 'lost in space' (Elite Dangerous)
I'll be navigating back to Earth soon and will try to regain some self respect!
You are also right about Vrindu's time!!! He is certainly setting a new standard and is giving us all a goal to achieve.

I think the default settings session ends today. Let me know if there are any improvements otherwise we can take this as a final result.
(I thought I had caught Vrindu for a second!)

Oh yeah, and Wobbly and Viper should do it too! Seriously, having a steering wheel makes driving much more immersive and fun.

I've probably recommended some wheels numerous times, but I'll do it again.
I'm using the Logitech G27, which is one of the best wheels around. Three great pedals, a six-speed gear shifter, 900° turning force feedback steering wheel with flappy paddles behind it for gear shifting... But the thing is, it's usually about 300€. Right now one can be bought for about 250$. With well over a hundred hours in various racing games, I can say it has been worth it. Englishman bonus: you can attach the gear shifter on the left side of the wheel just as well! And nothing forces it to be attached on the same level as the wheel, so it's possible to put it on the hip level like in a real car.

Another one I can recommend is the Logitech Driving Force GT. The wheel turns 900° and has great force feedback effects. However, the pedals (throttle and brake, clutch is missing) aren't very good. It has a sequential (up/down) gear shifter. The prices are usually about 100$-150$. Right now you can get one for 120$.
